If you want to help us raising money to save the Rhinos, we have a fun event for you. Mark Gainsborough, the chair of Rhino Revolution in South Africa, is organising a sponsored 28km walk on Saturday 11th June, starting from Kendal in the Lake District.
Our team “The Walking Rhinos” will hike at a leisurely place to enjoy the amazing scenery along the way. The event is organised by an organisation called Ultra Challenge, serious hikers can also opt for 50km and 100km challenges. Having done the 100km option in the past, Mark advises this his not for the faint hearted!
Although Ultra Challenge provides the logistics for the walk, its up to individuals to organise their own fundraising. This is easily done by setting up a page on Just Giving.
Registration for the 28km walk with Ultra Challenge costs £79, but in return Mark promises to buy drinks for everyone when we get back after the end of the walk. It’s more fun to walk as a team, so when you register we suggest to specify that you are part of The Walking Rhinos team. That way we will all be allocated the same start time. We suggest that if you are doing the 28km hike you book the option to have transport back to the start at Kendal.
The link to the Ultra Challenge website is below, so sign up today and help Mark to raise funds for the amazing work that we do. There is no minimum fundraising target..every £1 you raise will make difference and you will be sure to have fun in the process.
