Wild Shots Outreach Student Wins International Competition with Dehorning Photos

Congratulations to Wild Shots Outreach student Kgaugelo Neville Ngomane for WINNING the CIWEM International Young Environmental Photographer of the Year competition with this powerful image of the dehorning of one of The Lucky Five rewilded orphans.
As part of our pioneering community engagement programme, Rhino Revolution invited a small group of Wild Shots Outreach students to attend and document the de-horning. Winning photographer Neville says “Winning this competition means a lot. But I don’t just want to win, I want to make a difference. It is not easy to watch such an iconic animal being dehorned. I hope this picture will make a lot of people around the world see what we have to do to save our rhinos and it will make them support conservation”.
